Zoo Miami or Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Garden (formerly Miami MetroZoo) provides an excellent, fun, full-day attraction for any age. Zoo Miami is open 365 days a year. The zoo provides wildlife tours and has over 2,000 animals including white tigers, lions, and primates. There are also beautiful garden features showcasing plants, flowers and trees. Zoo Miami has programs for toddlers such as animal encounters and fun hands-on activities and has a children's zoo. Rated Kid friendly.

The Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition is a seasonal amusement park and exposition that opens annually in the springtime. General admission is $10 and free for ages 5 and younger. Entertainment includes amusement rides, various exhibits, art, shows, concerts, circus performances, and more. If you have small children or elrderly family members it's best to visit the fair in the early hours to avoid the large crowds. Rated Kid friendly.

Jungle Island is open 365 days a year (weekdays 10am to 5pm / weekends 10am to 6pm). Special shows and events at this Miami attraction may extend Jungle Island's hours. View exotic animals such as lemurs, liger, parrots, white lion, tigers, leopards, red kangaroos, reptiles, macaws, and cuddly creatures. Shows and exhibits include an everglades habitat, aviary, VIP Safari Tour, Lemur Experience, Serpentarium, parrots from all over the world, Wild Encounter Show, and more.

Miami Children's Museum is one of the best places in Miami to take young children for a half-day or full-day play experience. Miami Children's Museum (MCM) is an exciting experience for the whole family. Engaging exhibits encourage families to play, imagine, create, and learn. The best ages are Pre-K and Kindergarten, up through elementary school age, like 5th grade. Rated kid friendly.

Located on beautiful Biscayne Bay, Miami Seaquarium boasts a wide variety of marine life, remarkable educational programs and state of the art rescue and rehabilitation efforts. Animals include Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, sea lion, killer whale, manatee, shark, stingray, crocodile, and a variety of trapical fish.

Coconut Grove is fairly close to Key Biscayne. Both locations have something nice to offer. On the one hand, Coconut grove offers shopping and dining at Cocowalk. You can then drive or bike to Key Biscayne and decide if you want to go to the beach, rent watercraft, or just do some exploring and sightseeing. If you travel toward Crandon Park there are nice beaches and nature to explore. If you bike this route bring plenty of water. You can also plan this trip in reverse by starting in the Key Biscayne area and finishing up with an early dinner or late lunch in Coconut Grove.

South Beach offers world-class dining, night clubs, unique shops, and beach activities. Your visit can be a full-day activity depending on if you decide to visit the beach and shops on the same day. South Beach has swimming, SCUBA, Jet Ski, snorkeling, kite surfing, boating, and more.

The Falls isn't the largest shopping mall in Miami, but provides a tranquil setting and a premium selection of shopping and dining choices. Dadeland Mall features great indoor shopping and restaurants such as Apple Store, The Cheesecake Factory, Ann Taylor, FAO Schwarz, Swarovski, Fossil, Nordstrom, Michael Kors boutique, and more. There are no scenic views but it's a full-service shopping mall that's indoors if you want to escape the heat.
